LOCATED down a quiet village lane but right next to a motorway junction, this historic pub with a contemporary restaurant is a pub of contrasts.
Following an extensive refurbishment three years ago, The Four Horseshoes in Nursling boasts a cosy interior with open fire and oak beams harking back to its blacksmith roots, plus a modern restaurant bringing diners into the 21st century with good quality pub favourites.
The pub, a member of Hampshire Fare serving quality, locally sourced food, appeals to a wide range of customers – regulars for a pint after work, retired locals, families and foodies of all ages.

Customers travel from far and wide, which general manager Emily Mesher puts down to a number of things: a great supplier, friendly service and a first-class kitchen team.
A superb Sunday Roast to the backdrop of live music is particularly popular.
The bar serves a wide range of lagers, ciders, IPAs, Guinness, real ales and bottled beers, plus 25 premium spirits, a huge selection of wines, and non-alcoholic drinks. Local ales, including Ringwood Bitter and Doom Bar, always go down a storm.
The pub, which has more than 20 full and part-time employees, has recently scooped a hat-trick of the highly sought-after TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards. TripAdvisor gives Travellers’ Choice Awards to restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from customers and are ranked within the top 10 per cent on its website.
Delighted to win the award for a third year in a row, Emily said: "It’s testimony to a great team who put our customer’s dining experience at the heart of everything we do. It's an exceptional award for us as it’s entirely based on customer reviews.
"We have strived to keep our standards very high, and this has always been our number one aim. We are lucky to have fantastic internal areas, as well as two large gardens outside, making The Four Horseshoes the perfect spot for our customers to relax with their friends and family."
The venue is also used for various events including wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthdays and Christmas parties.
It boasts a large garden with ‘The Grill’ at the front of its premises and smaller terrace garden at the rear, as well as a large car park.
