A SOUTHAMPTON restaurant that was rated one-out-of-five has been given a new hygiene rating.
Foodys in Shirley was given a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating following an inspection carried out on January 18.
But now, the takeout has been given a new rating of five-out-of-five.
In the first inspection, officers found that "major improvement was necessary" with the management of food safety.
Inspectors also found that improvement was "necessary" in hygienic food handling.
This included preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.
Improvement was also needed in the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building.
A re-inspection of the takeout took place on March 16, where inspectors found no risks at the site.
It was awarded a five-out-of-five rating, which is now on the Food Standards Agency website.
It means that of Southampton's 397 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 328 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
