THOUSANDS of people are set to descend on Southampton this weekend to take part in one of the biggest sporting events of the year.
The Southampton ABP Marathon kicks off at 9am on Sunday, April 2.
A record number of people will be putting on their running shoes and the weather is looking reasonable.
According to the Met Office website, Sunday is set to be fairly cloudy with highs of 11C.
At 7am there will be light cloud covering with temperatures of 7C.
Between 10am and 1pm, the weather will be rather cloudy with temperatures of 8C and 10C.
By 4pm, there will be some sun peaking through and the thermometer will reach 11C.
Come 7pm, the sky will be clear and remain so until 10pm.
