THE cast of The SpongeBob Musical took part in a beach clean up as they prepared to launch their UK and Ireland tour in Southampton

Divina De Campo, star of Ru-Paul's Drag Race, and other stars of the show took their litter pickers and bin bags to Goatee Beach at Eling to collect rubbish.

From tomorrow (Wednesday April 5), they will take to the stage in the musical based on the underwater adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants.

When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world!

The cast of the show, which plays at Mayflower Theatre until Saturday, will be taking part in a beach clean at each location they visit.

They aim to clean up Britain's waterways just like the characters in the animated TV series on which the show is based.

Tom Read Wilson from Celebs Go Dating replaces the injured Gareth Gates in the show.
