A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog following a fight in Bursledon on Saturday night.
An emergency worker who intervened ended up being assaulted after trying to stop the argument outside an address in Woodlands Way.
Two people were involved in the altercation.

A 39-year-old woman from Bursledon was arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog, common assault to an emergency worker and assault.
Police were called out at 9.25pm by the fire crews investigating reports of a smell of burning coming from the address.

Firefighters from Hamble, Hightown and St Marys found this was caused by a hob being left on.
The arrested woman has since been released on conditional bail until July 1, while police enquiries remain ongoing.
