THE daughter of a much-loved grandmother murdered in her own home said "heartbreak doesn't even come close" to describe the pain inflicted on her family.
Lorraine Mills, 63, was stabbed around 40 times in a "frenzied and unprovoked" attack in Millbrook, a court heard.
Her killer, 48-year-old Richard Shaw, has been jailed for a minimum of 30 years and was told by a judge that he "may die in custody".

Lorraine's daughter, Natalie Harris, who had been in a relationship with him, said his actions "have destroyed my life and that of so many other people".
Shaw, of Derby Road, Southampton had already been jailed for raping a grandmother but after being released, his relationship with Ms Harris resumed.
The pair eventually split up due to concerns he would be jailed again for breaching his licence conditions.
On November 21 last year, following a series of arguments, Shaw went to Lorraine's home on Mansel Road East.
He told officers that he went to the kitchen and picked up a knife and followed his partner's mother to the bedroom.
He stabbed her in the back, chest and neck as she attempted to defend herself.
Prosecuting, Jo Martin KC said: "His intention was to kill Lorraine in order to hurt Natalie."
Shaw kept the knife in his pocket as he went to the pub with Ms Harris later that day but went on to chuck it in a bush at Southampton Common.
Lorraine's body was discovered by her daughter and granddaughter.
Speaking at Shaw's sentencing at Winchester Crown Court, Ms Harris told him: "You have destroyed my life and that of so many other people.
"Heartbroken doesn't even come close.
"My daughter, only nine years old, was with me when she found nanny, lying cold, bloodied and lifeless.
"This is an image that nobody should have to see, let alone a child."

Rhyanna Mould, Shaw's daughter, said: "You are not my dad. In fact you are not a man.
"The thought of you being my biological father disgusts me.
"Nanny is at peace, out of pain and happy.
"You have shown me what real evil is and for that I hate you.
"I no longer love you or miss you. You are the devil."
Shaw pleaded guilty to the murder in January.
He had already served 17 years in jail for rape.
Mitigating, Jon Swain said the defendant had a difficult upbringing having been put into care at the age of two.
"It's clear that the relationship that he and Natalie had was extremely unhealthy for both of them and it's sad that they renewed that relationship.
"There was a deterioration between the two of them. It's tragic that it ended up with the choice that this defendant made.
"He doesn't blame anybody but himself."
Shaw was given a life sentence with a minimum of 30 years.
Judge, Mrs Justice Johannah Cutts DBE, told him: "For no reason beyond your own resentment, you determined that Natalie Harris should know what it's like to know pain.
"You went to her mother's house intending to hurt and kill her.
"This murder was motivated by revenge.
"You are highly unlikely to be released and may die in custody."
