THE halted A35 Redbridge Causeway roadworks will recommence next week.
Commuters have enjoyed a temporary reprieve to heavily delayed journeys for the last few weeks, including the school Easter holidays.
But cones are expected to return on Monday as the roadworks continue for several more months.
The £25 million four-bridge refurbishment project on the A35 has seen months of delays and disruption for motorists as phased repairs take place on the road bridge between the New Forest and Southampton.
Long delays are set to continue until late July as the next phase of work on the eastbound carriageway takes place.
The work is part of a complete refurbishment of the old concrete bridges that span the River Test.
This latest stage of the scheme will also shut the route completely for up to three weekends this summer.
Hour-long delays have become a familiar sight along the road, which is used by 60,000 motorists per day.
