An investigation has been launched after a woman was crushed by scaffolding.
Emergency services were called to West Street in Fareham yesterday afternoon after scaffolding collapsed outside Halifax Bank.
A woman suffered serious injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Following the incident, Fareham Borough Council’s Environmental Health team will be carrying out a ‘thorough’ investigation to try to establish the cause of the incident and whether there were any breaches of the Health & Safety at Work Act.

A spokesperson said: “It will not be possible to share any further information whilst this is in progress.
“It would not be appropriate for the council to provide an update on the person who sustained the injuries as it is not our place to do so.”
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene at West Street before 2pm.
Fire crews from Fareham and Cosham stations also attended.
