ROADWORKS on Redbridge Causeway due to restart next week have been delayed.
Lane closures were due to come into force on Monday April 17.
But Hampshire County Council has announced that the work has been pushed back until the Bank Holiday Monday on May 1.
However, some short-term lane closures will still be required next week and on Monday April 24 for material deliveries.
These will affect the left-hand lane of the westbound carriageway of the A35 (in the Totton direction) between 9am and 3pm.
Commuters have enjoyed a temporary reprieve to heavily delayed journeys after the works were halted during the Easter holidays.
The works are set to run until July while the next phase of the £25m refurbishment takes place.
The work is part of a complete refurbishment of the old concrete bridges that span the River Test.
This latest stage of the scheme will also shut the route completely for up to three weekends this summer.
