STAFF at a shop have been threatened during a robbery where a man made off with £500 in cash. 

A search has been launched for the man after the robbery at the One Stop store on Portsmouth Road, Bursledon.

At around 2.55pm on April 7, the man entered the store and became abusive, threatening staff, police say. 

He then stole a drawer from the till and left on a bicycle. 

Approximately £500 was taken but no one was injured.

Now an image has been released of a man police would like to speak to. 

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, of medium build and wearing a grey sweatshirt with "Michigan" written on it in orange lettering. 

The man, who is thought to be aged between 18 and 30, was also wearing black trousers and Nike trainers.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Do you recognise the man pictured? We appreciate his face is covered, but are hoping that someone might recognise him from his clothing.

"Anyone with information that may assist our enquiries is asked to call 101 quoting reference 44230137358.
