QUEEN Mary 2 will set sail from Southampton next week as works to repair a technical fault have been completed, Cunard said.
The company's flagship ocean liner has been moored at Ocean Terminal since Sunday, when her scheduled transatlantic voyage to New York was cancelled.
ABP said the ship would face "an extended stay in port" while engineers worked to fix the fault. The nature of the problem was never revealed.
The sudden cancellation left thousands of unsuspecting passengers stranded in the city with many others wondering if future cruises would be affected too.

However, the cruise company has now announced a five-night Coronation Celebration voyage around the British Isles which will depart from Southampton next week.
A spokesperson for Cunard told the Daily Echo: “The technical team have completed their work and the Queen Mary 2 will disembark as planned from Southampton on Tuesday, May 2.”
In a statement, an ABP spokesperson added: “The Queen Mary 2 is planned to be within the Port of Southampton until Tuesday, May 2. ABP continue to work with Cunard to support her extended stay. This will include moves within port to minimise impact to other planned shipping.”
The Echo understands the ship will be moved to a different berth this weekend to make space for the arrival of P&O's Iona and Arvia.

Tickets for the coronation cruise went on sale at 1pm today, starting at £499 per person.
The round-trip includes a visit to Liverpool.
On Saturday, May 6 guests will be able to watch the Coronation ceremony live from Westminster Abbey.
This will be followed by a Coronation dinner inspired by King Charles’ favourite ingredients and a Coronation party.
Cunard Acting Senior Vice President, Angus Struthers, said: “We wanted to provide an opportunity for our guests to enjoy an unforgettable, very special and unique celebration of the Coronation. What better way to mark this momentous occasion than being on board our majestic flagship Queen.”
After the Coronation cruise, Queen Mary 2 is expected to resume her original schedule.
