ROADWORKS on Obelisk Road are set to begin on Tuesday.
There will be a road closure on Obelisk Road between Church Road and Longmore Avenue as part of Woolston & Itchen Active Travel Zone scheme.
As a result of the works, road access will be maintained for residents and deliveries, however, access to Oak Road via Obelisk Road will be unavailable during this phase.
Pedestrian access past the works site will also be maintained.
The works are expected to take five and a half weeks to complete with phase four set to be underway from June 15.
The project aims to create a better environment for everyone by identifying and making some small changes to the streets and roads.
This is in the hope they will improve walking and cycling for short journeys.
The project was funded by the Transforming Cities Fund in March 2020.
These works are part of phase three of the improvements being made to Obelisk and St John’s Road which were set out in February earlier this year.
