Matthew and Ryan are set to release their book, Love is Love: the absolute must-have guide to coming out from your favourite agony uncles, later this month. 

Matthew Mackinnon and Ryan Payne will celebrate with a book signing at Waterstones in Westquay on Saturday June 3 at 11am.

Matthew and Ryan have become the online agony uncles for a new generation, receiving countless messages from their followers looking for answers to questions about coming out, confusing feelings, mental health issues, finding your tribe and feeling confident in your own skin.

So they've created the ultimate guidebook they wish they'd been given when they were discovering who they were.

Ryan told the Daily Echo: "The way I came out was that I blurted it out during a fight with my Dad. It didn't go well and I actually ended up on the streets.

He was a single Dad at the time and didn't know how to support me. He was in shock and had a real lack of knowledge, but we have a great relationship now and he's contributed to the book. So this is a great guide for parents as well."

Matthew added: "We want to help people through our stories. Mine was quite positive compared to Ryan's, but they're all different, and we want people to know that it's OK. It's been an eye-opening two years putting it together."
