The M27 was closed in both directions after two people were injured a motorbike crash. 

Police officers were called to the motorway after 6.30pm on Sunday following a crash involving a red BMW motorcycle.

The male rider and female pillion passenger, both aged in their 60s and from Lincoln, were taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

The motorway was closed between junction five at Eastleigh and junction seven at Hedge End.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area whilst the closure was in place.

It reopened later that night.
