Posting on social media Southampton Cops said: "Police officers from the Southampton Central Bargate and Bevois neighbourhood teams executed a drugs warrant at a commercial premises located on East Street.
"As a result of this warrant, our officers located and seized 250 cannabis plants and arrested a 25-year-old male on suspicion of cannabis cultivation.
"The warrant was authorised after officers obtained information from proactive neighbourhood patrols and building strong intelligence over a number of weeks.
"The process of intelligence gathering, obtaining warrants and dismantling cannabis factories can take a lot of time however the disruption that this causes to organised crime groups is invaluable.
"The effect of cannabis supply and cultivation on our local community is often overlooked. This criminality directly funds organised crime groups involved in causing serious harm to residents of the city.
"If you have any information relating to drug possession or supply we encourage you to report this by calling 101 or visiting the Hampshire Constabulary website."
