A ‘MANIPULATIVE’ stalker bombarded his ex-partner with more than one hundred messages and left Snack A Jacks outside her door in a bid to win her back.

Brian Kendall sent 105 messages to the woman in one day, amongst a flurry of ‘unpleasant’ texts and emails sent over a two-week period.

The relationship deteriorated when Kendall, 53, started going on ‘cocaine benders', Southampton Crown Court heard.

Kendall's victim texted to say it was over between them in December 2022.

The pair then continued an on and off again relationship until March this year, when she received a ‘great number’ of abusive messages from him and blocked him.

Keely Harvey, prosecuting, said: “The victim said it felt like he was going from zero to 100.

“She had enough and she blocked him for a third time. She started to realise this was domestic abuse.

“The defendant sent her 105 text messages in one day on March 30.

“Afterwards, she text him: ‘I have finally woken up. You are manipulative, controlling, and coercive. It’s over Brian, it really is. Stay away from me.'”

Ms Keely went on to say how the victim discovered ‘bunches of lilies and chocolate Snack a Jacks’ outside her front door in Eastleigh from Kendall.

In a statement read out in court, the victim said: “The consistent and relentless tirade of behaviour has become too much.

“I am scared at the possibility of him coming to my house again.

“My biggest fear is that he will get away with this and will continue to hassle me and my family.

“I never want to hear from Brian again.”

Kendall previously pleaded guilty to stalking and intimidating a witness.

Speaking to Judge Peter Henry, Kendall said he was ‘fully aware’ of his actions.

He said: “I have an issue when I am heartbroken or grieving. I really struggle with my emotions.

“I make terrible decisions in my life, and I am really gutted about what’s happened.”

Passing sentence, Judge Henry told Kendall he ‘took advantage’ of the breakdown of the relationship.

He said: “I don’t doubt you did become manipulative.

“You sent highly threatening messages and indicated a complete disregard for her feelings.

“Only you can find a way that is going to get you the respect of a woman and your family.”

Kendall of Burke Drive, Southampton, was handed a 18 month prison sentence and a five-year restraining order.
