THE reopening of 7Bone Burger Company has been welcomed by city leaders.
The restaurant is set to reopen in Southampton following its forced closure last year after a fire tore through its Portswood premises.
Having announced their plans to reopen a new eatery in Bedford Place via social media, reaction to 7Bone’s comeback has garnered plenty of positive responses.
Councillor Sarah Bogle, cabinet member for economic development, told the Daily Echo: “It’s good to see a local business bouncing back after such a difficult setback.
“I hope the new location proves successful and this adds to the large and diverse amount of independent food establishments in the city.”
Stephen Manion, Executive Director of GO! Southampton – the Business Improvement District for Southampton city centre – added: “GO! Southampton is pleased to see 7 Bone investing in the city centre, bringing even more choice for residents and visitors to enjoy in the vibrant atmosphere of Bedford Place.”
On Tuesday, 7Bone Burger Company announced its welcome return via social media after nearly a year away from the Southampton high street.

A Facebook post said: “In the beginning (10 years ago) we created the mothership in Southampton, she served us well for 9 great years and created the blueprint for what has followed.
“A year ago, she suffered a huge fire and took her out of action BUT we are happy to announce we are coming back bigger and better.”
The post added: “Unfortunately it will be a different location, so Southampton peeps keep your eyes peeled for a new location in Bedford Place.
“Peace, love and about bloody time!”
Last year the Echo reported how the establishment was “desperate” to reopen following a blaze that destroyed the building.
A fire ripped through the building in Portswood Road on a busy Friday night in July with staff and customers inside at the time.
Around 75 firefighters from across Hampshire were scrambled as part of an overnight operation to put out the fire according to Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, after flames ignited the roof of the building.
7Bone has restaurants in neighbouring Portsmouth and Bournemouth, so a return to Southampton will be of welcome news to customers.
