A HAMPSHIRE splash park is to reopen today following essential repairs.

Gosport Splash Park, near Pebble Beach Car Park at Stokes Bay, will re-open from 1pm on Tuesday.

From tomorrow, it will be open daily from 10am to 7pm and is free to use.

Cllr Peter Chegwyn, Leader of Gosport Borough Council, told the Daily Echo: "I'm delighted that the splash park is back open so families can enjoy it in this warm weather.

"I'm sorry that it's opening was delayed while we carried out some essential repairs."

The council's other site, Lee Splash Park, off Marine Parade, Lee-on-the-Solent, is also open from 10am to 7pm daily.

Totton and Eling Town Council currently have one of their water facilities open, Testwood  Pool, on Salisbury Road, while Eling splash park and Hanger Farm pool will follow soon.

There are also great water facilities open at Fleming Park in Eastleigh and St John's Recreation Ground in Hedge End.
