A MAN chased a suspect up the road after a stolen car ploughed into his BMW and home.
Mark Rice heard an "almighty crash" and saw glass fly through his front room when a stolen Ford Focus smashed into the front of his house.
The 28-year-old photographer ran after the driver but was unable to keep up after injuring his foot with the broken glass.
His red E46 was written off and the front wall of his house was shunted, causing the window to smash and bricks to collapse.
Shirtless men fled the scene in different directions and the police were called.
Mark, who has lived in the house with his wife Sammy for five years, said he "couldn't believe what had happened" on Tuesday.
He told the Daily Echo: "At around 4.30pm I heard this almighty crash and I thought there had been a car accident outside.
"I then saw falling brickwork and loads of smashed glass.
"There were three males trying to escape and I chased one of them down the road.
"I've got lots of glass injuries to my foot."
He added: "Luckily Sammy was at the hairdressers and I was in the other room gaming at the time."
Mark believes that the thieves were speeding down Merryoak Road and tried to turn left into Sholing Road when they crashed into his home, which is at the junction of the two streets.
He said that police have taken the car to look for forensic evidence that could link people to the scene of the crime.
Police have confirmed that the red Ford Focus was stolen from the car park of Sainsbury's in Bitterne.
The two passengers were described as white males aged approximately 18 to 20 years old and were shirtless.
The driver was described as being white, of a similar age, wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
Mark and his wife are in the process of buying the house and are unsure about how much repairs will cost.
Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV or information to get in touch.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "Did you see these males fleeing the scene? Has your property got CCTV which may have recorded images of the males?
"Did you see these males in the car park of Sainsbury's?
