TRAVELLERS have been “verbally requested” to leave Riverside Park by Southampton City Council.
The council has confirmed that a report has been submitted with recommendations on how the unauthorised encampment “should be dealt with”.
It’s the second time travellers have been at the park this month.
Caravans can be seen near the pitch and putt at Riverside Park.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: “Southampton City Council's Community Safety Team have completed statutory welfare checks with the occupants of the unauthorised encampment at Riverside Park, Woodmill Lane, Southampton.

“The occupants have been verbally requested to leave the site.
“A report has been submitted to a senior manager at Southampton City Council, with recommendations on how the site should be dealt with.
“Please report any anti-social behaviour and/or criminality to the police on 101 or their web-based reporting facility.”
Hampshire police confirmed that officers had visited to “assess the situation”.
