A SOUTHAMPTON Chinese takeaway has been handed a new zero-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Magic Chef in Shirley Road has been given the lowest possible food hygiene rating following an inspection on Monday, May 22.
According to the Food Standards Agency’s website, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building required “urgent improvement”.
Standards found at the time of inspection further show that hygienic food handling required “improvement” while the takeaway’s management of food safety needed “major improvement.”

The Daily Echo contacted Magic Chef for a response, however they declined to comment.
The food hygiene rating reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the inspection by the local authority.
It is not a guide to food quality.
