TWO men have been urged to come forward after a human placenta was discovered in a wooded walkway in Southampton.
It has been 10 days since the afterbirth was found off Dale Road in a wooded cut-way.
Here is everything we know so far:
What has happened?
The discovery was made by a 15-year-old boy in the wooded cut-way off of Dale Road at 8.47am on Wednesday, June 21.
It sparked a major police appeal with search and rescue teams scouring the area searching for the mum and newborn baby.
Earlier this week, officers confirmed that the discovery was human afterbirth and police began searching CCTV footage.
CCTV images
Police investigating the worrying incident released two CCTV images of men who were in the area on Saturday, June 17.
The first man has been identified by police and his image has now been removed.
The second man was walking up Dale Road hill towards Tremona Road and the hospital.
The police have stressed that neither men are suspects or in trouble.
What have police said?
Southampton Chief Inspector Marcus Kennedy said: “We continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the discovery of the placenta and now have images of these two men who we would like to speak to as soon as possible.
"We would like to stress that they are not under any suspicion or in any trouble, but we believe they may have vital information to assist our enquiries.
"We appreciate the image of the second man is very unclear, however it’s the best we have available at this time – if you believe this could be you then please get in touch."
He added: “If you saw anything that you think we should know, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, please submit information to us via 101 or online at our Public Information Portal.
“The location has now reopened to the public and we would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding as we have carried out time-critical enquiries in the area.
“Our priority remains locating the mother who has recently given birth to ensure that she gets any medical treatment that she and her baby need."
