Part of Southampton road is set to close for roadworks for three months.
Southern Water will soon be carrying out works on Winchester Road to replace ageing pipes reaching the end of their operational life.
Workers will also be renewing all the individual water pipes to the edge of people’s property
The works will begin on Monday, July 31 and are expected to last three months.
As a result, the northern lane of Winchester Road between the junctions with Hill Lane and Dale Road will be closed.
Diversion routes will be shown using display signs with the eastbound traffic using Winchester Road as usual.
Meanwhile, westbound traffic should follow the diversion via Hill Lane, Lordswood Road, Lords Hill Way and Romsey Road.
Those living on the following roads will need to drive out the other end of the road.
- Vincent Avenue
- Bladon Road
- Malvern Road
- Seymour Road
- Luccombe Road (North)
- Seagarth Lane
During the works, the water supply may be interrupted for a short time for example to connect the new water main to properties.
Should this happen, residents will be given 48 hours’ notice before this interruption.
