A Southampton takeaway with mouldy chopping boards and a dirty toilet has been handed a one out of five hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency.
Sals Kebab House in St Mary’s Road has been given the rating after an inspection was carried out on June 6.
In a report, seen by the Daily Echo, the takeaway was told it would need to toss away its damaged chopping boards after inspectors found them scored and mouldy.
The report said: "The coloured chopping boards were heavily scored and mouldy.
"Although you said they are not used they were still on the premises and available for use, so they have to be considered in this report."

The report also said the floor covering in the wash-up area, food preparation area and the servery was damaged and needed to be replaced or repaired.
The eatery was told to do this by September 22, 2023.
The hygiene report also said the toilets were not cleaned and that a 'thorough clean and disinfection' was needed. The walls, floor and door needed to be disinfected too, it said.
The inspector also found the standard of cleaning of some of the food equipment needed to be improved.
The floor standing mixer was dirty, and the safety guard was found 'encrusted with old dough'.
The restaurant also asked to carry out a thorough assessment to check for rodent entry points.
The report said: “No entry points could be seen but as there were a lot of items stored on the floor it was difficult to see all areas.”
The report 'strongly recommended' the standards of housekeeping be improved after some of the stock in the walk-in chiller was on the floor.
Staff should remove any items not used for food preparation and minimise the number of items stored, the report said.
Sals Kebab House has been contacted by the Echo.
