Kyle Morrison’s stoppage-time equaliser prevented Eastleigh from winning their opening game of the National League season at Solihull Moors.
After a pre-match tribute to late Moors chairman Trevor Stevens, affectionately known as ‘Mr Solihull’, it was the Spitfires who made the quickest start as Paul McCallum went close and Enzio Boldewijn struck a post.
The pair were then both denied by home keeper Tommy Simkin before Jamey Osborne and Josh Kelly tested Eastleigh’s Joe McDonnell in a first half that finished goalless.
Having been denied by the woodwork earlier in the game, Boldewijn headed Eastleigh in front 10 minutes after half-time from Charlie Carter’s cross.
Morrison and Osborne went close to grabbing an equaliser for the hosts before they were reduced to 10 men when Nico Gordon was sent off with a minute of the 90 remaining.
Undeterred by being a man down The Moors struck an equaliser to salvage a point through Morrison in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
Speaking to Eastleigh's media team after the game, manager Lee Bradbury said: "We've come off slightly frustrated at the end.
"They've gone down to 10 men and we take a little bit of a backwards step.
"We've just spoken to the players about being a little bit braver on the ball and in trying to make it difficult for them.
"Losing 1-0 like they were, they were always going to go for it whether they had 10 men or 11 men.
"You see it too many times where the team with 10 men are better than the team with 11 and that was the case for the last eight minutes."
