A planning application has been submitted to replace three livestock buildings ‘beyond repair’ on a Titchfield farm.
Hollam Hill Farm has been let by the County Council to the same tenant continuously since 1988 and, since this date, has been used as a county farm and farm shop selling goods produced on the farm and from the local community.
The wooden portal frame buildings on the 17.9-hectare farm have deteriorated with time and subsequently have defects in their structure.

The report indicated they are beyond economical repair and no longer suitable for their intended purpose.
Therefore, the planning statement proposed replacing two unsound buildings and the redundant goat milking parlour with three new steel portal frame buildings for livestock housing purposes.
The modifications will result in a twenty per cent increase in the total floor space, bringing the building’s floor area to 814 square meters.
The roof cladding of the new buildings will be PR6 fibre cement-coloured Anthracite Grey, in line with nearby roof cladding.
The walls will be concrete panel construction between steel stanchions and with high-level timber board cladding.
Hollam Hill farm forms part of Hampshire County Council’s county farm estate.
