PUBLICANS are celebrating a year in business after reopening a historic pub.
The Hunters Inn, in Swanmore, reopened a year ago on August 18 after being shut for three years.
The 300-year-old pub has had a busy year bringing in new faces from around Southampton, Portsmouth and other areas after their refurbishment alongside new menus, events and more.
Owners Stewart and Pam Elliott have put a great deal of work into the pub over the past three years with new additions such as a function room which seats 120 people, a brand-new kitchen and toilets, and a new play area in the garden for children.
With bands such as The Honkey Tonks who play every month, DJs, and cover bands, everyone is catered for when it comes to entertainment.
General manager and head chef Angela Farmer told how well the past year has been for the pub.
She said: “It’s been absolutely great.
“It’s just a lovely atmosphere now and it’s so nice to have Swanmore back to a pub that has always been here.”
“We are just constantly working on making sure we get customers in the door, old and new by advertising all the time for different events.”
Angela has also brought in pub new menus with a wide range of choices.
With prices of £12.50 for a burger and chips and £3.20 for a pint, The Hunters Inn is trying to keep their prices cheap in the current ongoing cost of living crisis.
To celebrate its first anniversary of re-opening, The Hunters Inn is holding a fun-day event on Saturday, August 19.
Punters can expect to see a wide range of entertainment and activities on the day such as face painting, rides, a kid’s disco in the afternoon, a live band in the evening and an ice cream man.
Angela added: “Come down and see us! The door is always open, and we’ll help as much as we can.”
