The council has issued a traffic warning as several cruise ships are expected to dock in Southampton today.
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys in advance if they are travelling to the waterfront.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, the Southampton Travel account run by Southampton City Council said: "High volumes of cruise passengers are expected in the city today with several cruise ships arriving/departing. Please plan any journeys to the waterfront in advance as it will be busy."
The cruise ships which were expected to dock today were:
-Anthem of the Seas, which was due to dock at 5.45am today and to depart at 4.30pm today.
-Queen Victoria, which was due to dock at 8.20am and depart at 4.30pm today
-Bolette, which is due to dock at 6.30pm and leave at 11pm today.
Thousands of passengers are expected to travel to the city throughout the day.
