THE below cases have all been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

LEON WALKER, 56, of Hawkwood Road, Bournemouth admitted a single charge of exceeding a variable speed limit on the M27 westbound between junctions ten and nine at Fareham. Walker was driving a Nissan when he was clocked at 57mph at a time when a 50mph speed limit was in place. He was fined £40 and given three penalty points. Walker must also pay court costs of £110 and a £16 surcharge. 

SURKHAAB ALI, 23, of Glen Eyre Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to speeding on a 30mph road having been clocked at 79mph on the A35 Lyndhurst Road at Ashurst. Ali was caught speeding in a BMW 320D on February 22 this year. He was disqualified from driving for nine months and must pay a fine of £120. He must also pay court costs of £110 plus a £48 surcharge. 

JONATHAN HOPE, 38, of Smith Street, Gosport pleaded guilty to assault by beating, obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty and being arrested by a constable for breaking or being likely to break bail conditions. His bail was revoked and he will now appear on September 14, 2023 for sentencing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court.

SAMUEL RALPH, 18, of Peterscroft Avenue, Ashurst admitted speeding in a 30mph road after being clocked at 53mph on the A35 at Ashurst. He was driving a Ford Fiesta at the time. Ralph was disqualified from driving for 14 days and fined £120. He must also pay court costs of £110 and a £48 surcharge.

TERRY GLASSEY, 38, of Upper St Helens Road, Hedge End pleaded guilty to speeding on a 30mph road. He was clocked driving at 36mph in a Vauxhall Vivaro on Main Road at Colden Common. Glassey was disqualified from driving for six months and given three penalty points. He must also pay a fine of £83, court costs of £110 and a £33 surcharge.
