A nonbinary artist has been supported by Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis.
Emily Priest from Southampton was delighted to see their business received an online boost from the entrepreneur.
Emily, owner of Woolston-based EmzillasTrove, tweeted Theo about their business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ (SBS).
Their business was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet or repost by Theo to his over half a million Twitter and Instagram followers.
Following the retweet, Emily’s Etsy account has seen a huge increase in followers and extra orders for their resin art and handmade jewellery.
Emily said: “I started this business during the pandemic when I lost my job due to COVID and it’s been hard getting seen online.
“Winning SBS and getting support from Theo was the boost I needed to keep going and find new love for my art.”

The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,500 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
He said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.
“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS retweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.
“The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish EmzillasTrove every success.”
