A bus company has explained what happened when its driver got stuck while doing a botched three point turn outside Southampton this morning.
The Bluestar bus was making its way along Rownhams Lane, only to find the road was closed.
When attempting a three-point turn the rear of the bus initially appeared to get stuck in some woodland at the side of the road, forcing passengers to vacate the vehicle.
But Andy Shaw, Bluestar operations manager told the Echo: “One of our vehicles was on a diversion from its usual route and took a wrong turn today in North Baddesley.

“The driver attempted to turn around but made minor contact with a tree.
“Although the bus was not stranded, the driver awaited assistance from our depot before moving the bus further.
“The bus has now been moved, and I would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
It was also reported by an eyewitness that a tree surgeon and officers from Hampshire Police were on the scene. No-one appeared to be injured.
