SOUTHAMPTON City Council is helping residents following a fire at a block of flats in the city centre.
Firefighters from six fire stations tackled a blaze on Monday night at Wyndham Court, situated on Commercial Road.
Having been alerted to the fire at 9:40pm, crews had put out the blaze by 10:50pm, with no injuries reported.
Following the incident, Southampton City Council has confirmed they are assisting residents where appropriate.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Following a fire at Wyndham Court, we are supporting affected residents, including arranging temporary alternative accommodation where appropriate.

“Our maintenance teams will be assessing the damage and planning any repairs in due course.”
Though Commercial Road was closed as firefighters dealt with the blaze, the road has now fully reopened, and the surrounding businesses are operating as normal.
A photo taken from Tuesday afternoon shows the result of the fire damage, with much of the physical damage inflicted on the property contained to one flat.
It is the second fire to take place at the premises this year after two brothers were forced to flee their flat in March.
