A Bengal cat has finally found his forever home after waiting over a year.

Overlooked Louie spent a year of his life at St Francis Animal Welfare before moving onto pastures new.

He moved out with his new family in the country in mid-August and is settling into his new life ‘very well’.

Alex Bendall, trustee of the shelter, said: “St Francis goes to great lengths to partner their residents with the right owner, and in some cases, this can take a little longer to ensure the right partnership is found for both parties.

“In this case it has certainly been worth the wait for Louie and he appears to have landed on his feet with his new owners who have welcomed him into their home.

“His family are pleased to confirm that he is settling into his new life very well and is already a loved and cherished member of the family.”

Daily Echo:

The Fair Oak shelter launched an appeal to find Louie his forever home in May and were inundated with applications.

But it was important the perfect home was found for the beloved Bengal.

Louie arrived at the shelter in 2022 after his elderly owner became too ill to look after him.

He arrived as a very scared cat who avoided any kind of human interaction.

But Louie now has a new lease of life and a loving family to care for him.

Alex said: “We wish Louis a very ‘and he lived happily ever after’ future and offer our sincere gratitude to his new keepers for taking on such a beautiful cat.”

St Francis is always keen to hear from caring homes who are looking at the option of adopting one of their animals.
