A case has been dropped against a man who was charged after an attack on Hong Kong protestors in Southampton.
Zheng Gong, 23, of High Street, Southampton was previously charged with racially aggravated assault after the incident on June 11.
It was alleged that a group of people were confronted and assaulted on Burgess Road at around 4.25pm that day.
But now the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed that the case against Gong has been dropped.

A CPS spokesperson said: "We have a duty to review all cases charged by police. Following a careful review of the evidence, we decided that due to issues concerning identification of the offender, our legal test was not met and the case was discontinued.”
The incident happened after a protest was held in the city centre to show support for Hong Kong political prisoners being held by the Chinese Government.
A video of the incident went viral on Twitter having been viewed more than 1.5 million times.
