DRIVERS in and around Southampton will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Three of them are expected to cause moderate delays, with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

National Highways has confirmed three road closures already that are expected to remain in place throughout the week.

Listed below are the roadworks to look out for in the city this week:

  • M27, from 8pm Tuesday, August 15, to 6am Thursday, September 14, expected delays of under 10 minutes – M27 westbound, junction 4 to M3 northbound, junction 14 link road, Lane closure for construction improvement works.
  • M27, from Friday, April 9, 2021, to 6am Saturday, September 16, 2023, slight delays under 10 minutes – M3 southbound to M27 eastbound, link road closure for M3 concrete barrier scheme.  
  • M27, from 9pm Friday, September 1, 2023, to 6am Monday, September 1, 2025, moderate delays between 10 and 30 minutes – M27 both directions, junction 5 to junction 8, Contraflow, narrow lanes and 50mph speed limit in place for major resurfacing.
  • M27, from 7:51pm Tuesday, September 5, to 5am Wednesday, September 6, moderate delays between 10 and 30 minutes – M27 westbound, junction 5, slip road and lane closures for barrier repairs.
  • M27, from 7:59pm Thursday, September 7, to 6am Friday, September 8, slight delays expected to be under 10 minutes – M27 both directions, junction 4 to 5, lane closure for maintenance works.
  • M27, from 7:51pm Friday, September 8, to 6am Saturday, September 9, delays under 10 minutes – M27 both directions, junction 4, Lane closures for maintenance work.

And there’s one additional road closure for next week:

  • M27, from 8pm Friday, September 15, to 5am Saturday, September 16, moderate delays between 10 and 30 minutes – M27 westbound, junction 3, Lane and slip road closure for maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads.

Closures of smaller roads are not included in their schedule.
