The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

SAMUEL WHEELER, 25, of Edward Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled drug of Class B, namely cannabis and assault by beating of an emergency worker. He was given a 5-month sentence suspended for 18 months with 20 rehabilitation days and 200 hours of unpaid work. Wheeler must pay £700 compensation. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the cannabis. 

BRADLEY PADDICK, 19, of Sullivan Road, Southampton admitted sending by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message. He was given two months imprisonment but suspended for 12 months. He must pay £85 court costs and a £154 surcharge. 

OMAR WELCH, 29, of Capon Close, Southampton pleaded guilty to breaching a non-molestation order. He was given a one-year community order with 25 rehabilitation days and a £300 fine. Welch must pay court costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge.

SAMUEL BALLIN, 30, of Windermere Avenue, Southampton pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was granted bail to appear at the same court on October 18 for sentencing. 

ANDREW MATTHEW, 54, of Southampton Street, Southampton admitted a charge of possessing a knife in a public place, namely a lock knife in Above Bar Street. He was given two months imprisonment suspended for 12 months with 15 rehabilitation days. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the knife. 

BILLY ROCH, 18, of Oakleigh Crescent, Totton pleaded guilty to drink driving on Wimpson Lane, Southampton. He was caught driving a Ford Fiesta with 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Roch was disqualified for 12 months and fined £360. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £144 surcharge.
