Controversial media personality Katie Hopkins has announced she will be coming to the New Forest.

The former newspaper columnist will be hosting her 'SpeakEasy' event at Lyndhurst Community Centre on October 26.

A statement on her website said: "These intimate ‘Speakeasy’ gatherings are the perfect place to think, speak and laugh freely."

It comes after her Live Laugh Love comedy stand-up at The Attic Southampton on May 3 was cancelled after the venue saw bands and acts due to perform at the venue pull their shows in protest.

Ms Hopkins, a former contestant on The Apprentice and Celebrity Big Brother, was sacked by LBC in 2017 for a controversial tweet in response to the Manchester Arena bombing.

Three years later, she was banned from Twitter for violating its hateful content policy.

Guests can buy tickets for £19 for Ms Hopkins' new show. She is billed as a guest speaker of the New Forest Freedom Community but has not been named in their publicity material on Eventbrite.

According to Ms Hopkins' website, the venue's doors will open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.

A Q&A session will start at 8.45pm and then a meet and greet at 9.30pm before the event wraps up at 10.30pm.

Responding to the boycott of her show at The Attic Southampton in Totton, Ms Hopkins previously said: " So because I'm bringing my stand-up show Live Laugh Love - which is just about people laughing together mostly at me - a young rock band have boycotted the venue and refused to play there because I'm going to be there - not even on the same night."

She added: "At what point did I ask them to endorse my stand-up show?

"I don't ask anyone to endorse anything I do, I go out there entirely alone.

"No-one wants to be associated with me... I'm not asking for their endorsement."
