A pensioner was injured while walking his dogs in Lee-on-the-Solent - but has no recollection as to how it happened, police said.
Officers are trying to work out what happened to the 70-year-old man on Monday, who took his dogs out for their evening walk in Cockerell Close at around 9.30pm.
According to police, he remembered having a 'verbal altercation' with a dark-haired man aged between 25-35 who was driving a blue car, and then seeing a man walking towards him shortly after.
The man arrived home with cuts on his face and head - but did not remember what caused them.
