Two men have been arrested after police seized several cars at an industrial unit near Fair Oak.

Police officers investigating reports of stolen vehicles in the Eastleigh area were conducting searches at the industrial unit on Allington Lane on Thursday.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to assist with gaining entry to the unit at around midday on Wednesday.

During the searches, a number of vehicles were recovered, and police have now confirmed arrests have also been made.

Two men, aged 24 and 41, both from Southampton have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Police officers investigating reports of stolen vehicles in the Eastleigh area have made two arrests.

It comes after officers searched an industrial unit in Allington Lane, Fair Oak just after 7am today (5 October). Several vehicles have since been recovered.

“Two men – aged 24 and 41 and both from Southampton – have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. They both remain in custody at this time.”

The site was cordoned off as a PCSO stood on guard throughout the morning as police search advisors were seen leaving the premises carrying evidence bags.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Firefighters from Eastleigh Fire Station were called to assist Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police partners with gaining entry to a unit on Allington Lane at around midday yesterday.”
