The leader of Southampton City Council has described today's gun incident outside a city secondary school as 'shocking'.
Councillor Satvir Kaur was reacting to the news that at 1.30pm, police believe a man fired a gun at another man in Middle Road, metres away from Oasis Academy Sholing, before the pair fled in their own cars.
The incident has caused widespread concern, with officers still on the hunt for those involved.

She said: "This is shocking and worrying.
"People deserve to feel safe in their neighbourhoods and it's sad that currently so many don't due to an increase in crime.
"We have great police officers, but we know resources have been cut and we deserve our fair share.
"I hope anyone with any information on this incident contacts the police to help with their on-going investigation."
