A HIT-and-run driver who ploughed into a young mum pushing a pram has been locked up.

Dale Clark left Rebecca Sharp hospitalised after crashing his Toyota RAV4 into her in the Redhill area of Bournemouth in April this year.

The 38-year-old admitted to drink driving and to causing serious injuries by driving dangerously.

Clark, of York Avenue, New Milton, was 46 micrograms of alcohol in 100mls of breath – the legal limit is 35mgs.

His victim suffered a life-threatening injury, meanwhile, the baby was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Appearing at Bournemouth Crown Court this morning, he was jailed for three years and eight months.
