A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident at Cobden Bridge involving two young children.
It comes after a woman was seen in the water at Riverside Park with two young kids at around 3.30pm on Thursday afternoon.
All three people were pulled from the water and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
The incident sparked a major emergency services response with the bridge closed in both directions.
Police say a 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.38pm following reports that a woman had entered the water near Cobden Bridge with two young children.
“Emergency services attended the scene and all three people were recovered and received treatment.
“A 31-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“Cobden Bridge was temporarily closed but has since been reopened. We will be conducting enquiries in the area.”
Police also said this was an isolated incident and there are no wider threats to the community.
They were unable to confirm the relationship between the woman and children and the ages and genders of the children.
