Tributes have been paid to a former Hampshire mayor who has died aged 91.
After he and his family moved to Lymington in 1970, Graham Wales started a business that sold leather, sports and travel goods.
In the mid 1970s he was elected to what later became Lymington and Pennington Town Council, and was mayor from 1981 to 1983.
He also became a member of New Forest District Council but remained on the town council, serving the authority for 20 years.
Following his retirement, he was named a "burgher" in recognition of his contribution to the town. The title gave him the right to drive flocks of sheep along Lymington High Street, should he wish to do so.
Mr Wales was invited to join Lymington’s Rotary Club in 1976 and became its president in 1984.
His other roles in included president of Lymington Literary Institute and the Lymington Division of the St John Ambulance Brigade, for which he was awarded the Order of St John in 2013.
His family have described him as an incredibly kind and caring man who was genuinely interested in everyone he encountered.
