A tree has collapsed at Staplewood training campus – Southampton Football Club’s state-of-the-art training facility.
Head of Grounds at Southampton Football Club, Graeme Mills, shared pictures of the uprooted tree on social media – that lay across an area of the training pitch.
Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, Graeme said: “Good start to the day”, followed by a wind and rain emoji.
One X user commented “looks expensive” while another wrote: “Not nice to see.”

This comes after Storm Ciaran swept across the south coast of England last night with many schools and colleges closed today across Southampton as a result – as 80mph winds were forecast in some areas.
Elsewhere, a ‘precarious’ tree has disrupted a South Western Railway service between Fareham and Swanwick.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the train operator said, “trains may be cancelled, delayed, or revised”, due to storm Ciaran.
