A world-famous theme park ride is set to come to Southampton Christmas Market next week. 

Organisers S&D Leisure revealed that Atmosfear will be available at the Above Bar Street event from November 16.

The ride features 16 outward-facing spinning and free looping seats as well as swinging 80 feet over the top in a 360-degree action. 

It allows passengers to experience both a weightless sensation and forces of 4.5g.

In a Facebook post, the market organisers said: "Ok thrill seekers ... are you ready to feel the fear ... the ATMOSFEAR

"Adrenalin pumping, high octane - this amazing world famous ride comes to the 2023 Southampton Christmas Market.

"The countdown is on! Join us from 16th November ... we'll be waiting"

On its website, Better Rides, the company behind Atmosfear, said: "The ride has adopted a menacing industrial theme which really makes it stand out from the crowd.  

"The spectacular artwork (a product of weeks of hard work and collaboration between our team and the talented designers at manufacturer Technical Park), state of the art LED lighting and an amazing sound system combine to ensure that AtmosFear is THE ride everyone will want to experience and have wowing the crowds at their events this year."
