Major police activity near a closed hospital sparked concerns from residents.
Lyndhurst residents were shocked on Thursday to find a convoy of emergency vehicles on Pikes Hill including police and ambulances.
Residents said ten police cars and four ambulances were seen outside the quiet vacant Fenwick Hospital.
Eyewitnesses have said that there was a lot of police activity in the woodlands opposite the hospital site.
Police have now confirmed they were searching the nearby area for a missing person.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Officers were in the area after a report of a missing person.
"The person in question has since been found."
