A Southampton takeaway has been given a new food hygiene award by the Food Standards Agency.
Tarka Express, a takeaway on Rownhams Road, was given a four-out-of-five rating after an inspection on October 13.
The inspection found that the takeaway’s “hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage” was good.

On its website, the restaurant claims to be the "best Indian takeaway near you" and serves a "wide range of Indian food".
The eatery’s cleanliness and condition of facilities were generally satisfactory, and the establishment’s management of food safety was also good.
It means that of Southampton's 171 takeaways with ratings, 115 have ratings of five – equivalent to 67 per cent- and just one has a zero rating.
