A section of the M27 was closed for several hours on Sunday night and into Monday morning following a serious crash.
Emergency services were called to the scene between junction one and two on the eastbound side before 6pm on Sunday.
Motorists faced delays of around 20 minutes in the area.
Officers later closed the eastbound carriageway between the two junctions to deal with the incident.

Speaking on the crash last night, a spokesperson from National Highways said: “The M27 in Hampshire remains closed eastbound between J1 and J2 near Southampton following a serious collision.
“Investigations continue and the road is expected to remain closed throughout the night.”

Fire crews were also called to the scene.
National Highways confirmed the crash was cleared at 5am today and the motorway reopened eastbound.
