Dozens of tankers have descended on a quiet New Forest road as a burst sewer is repaired.
Southern Water has suffered further problems at its Ashurst Bridge Wastewater Pumping Station in Ashurst Bridge Road.
Residents of the road, next to Bartley Water and Bartley Park, have reported the return of numerous tankers in the past few days.
They have suffered tanker movements day and night several times a year for around a decade, most recently when fixing a burst pipe elsewhere in the Forest in January.
Southern Water is not yet able to say how long the repairs will take.
A spokesperson said: “Our teams are repairing a burst sewer at Ashurst Bridge Road. We’re very sorry for the impact this is causing residents, businesses and commuters.
“Due to the nature of the repair there will be significant tanker movement in the area.”
The dead end road is used regularly by Foxhills and Hounsdown School pupils and joggers, cyclists and dog walkers accessing the Forest via a road bridge over the railway track.
