Pictures show a special night at a much-missed nightspot for many Southampton revellers of a certain age.
Chicago Rock Café was part of a well-known chain that opened up in Southampton only to vanish like many others from around that time, including Walkabouts and Brannigans.
August 1998 marked the grand opening of Chicago Rock Café and A VIP event was held to commemorate the big occasion.
The bar quickly gained a reputation for its generous £12-all-you-can-drink deal, but patrons soon discovered that getting the attention of the bar staff was an entirely different challenge.
What was once Chicago Rock, eventually transformed into Ocean & Collins and then Bliss, The OC and Voodoo Lounge.
The building stood empty for a while before being redeveloped into student accommodation.
On the night of August 26, 1999, a very special event was held at Chicago Rock Café - the aftershow party for the opening day of Boogie Night at the Mayflower Theatre.
The show starred Shane Ritchie and he was also snapped enjoying the night out with other cast and crew members of the production.
